The Best Friends Cat Initiative is to improve the lives of cats all over the nation, by implementing TNR, as well as educational programs that raise awareness to the public about ferals, community cats, and how to prevent them from getting into shelters.
There are 4 Focus on Felines Pilot Projects:
Four Directions Community Cat Program southern Utah- focuses on 38 communities in Southern Utah and provides low cost spay/neuter.
FixNation Los Angeles Ca, Los Angeles Network- focuses on community cats and ferals, as well as providing low cost spay/neuter, with the help of FixNation, a nonprofit clinic. It aims to reduce the euthanasia rates in the East Valley area.
FCNMHP Feral Freedom Jacksonville Fl, Jacksonville- has the Feral Freedom Program, where trapped cats are handed over to the FCNMHP and are then spayed or neutered and then returned.
NMHP northern, Utah No More Homeless Pets- working with NMHP in order to improve the shelter systems in Northerm Utah and reduce the number of community cats in the area.
